Surprisingly,  the Hiace became an improved model on January 10th and orders were resumed. those who have been able to place orders since the restart of orders seem to be planning for delivery around May or June, so the delivery time will be 5 to 6 months. About Toyota’s new “Hiace (van)” 2024 partial improvements

 Toyota made some improvements to  the Hiace ,including a new “Earth Color Package,” and released it on January 10, 2024. Until recently, we had stopped accepting orders, but we resumed accepting orders when the product was released.

Toyota made some improvements to the “Hiace” and added a new “Earth Color Package” to it , and released it on January 10, 2024. About Toyota’s new “Hiace” 2022 partial improvements

What I think about the improved model

The current 5th generation H200 series Hiace is a long model that will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2024. When it comes to Japanese vans, it can be said that the Hiace is a particularly popular model that is widely used for both business and personal use. Toyota is probably considering a full model change, but the issue of switching from a cab-over to a semi-bonnet for safety reasons is likely to be a bottleneck. With a cabover, you can reduce the engine room, allowing you to carry more cargo and carry more people without increasing the overall length. The reason for adopting a semi-bonnet even if it means sacrificing the biggest advantage of the Hiace is that Toyota is developing the H300 series as a global strategic commercial vehicle model, and the cab-over type has a cab (driver’s seat) above the engine. Therefore, the bottleneck is that it is difficult to maintain overseas, but if it is a semi-bonnet, it is easy to maintain overseas. Since the engine is located under the driver and passenger seats, there are heat and noise issues. Since the bonnet is not in front of a cabover, there is a higher risk of collision in the event of a collision compared to the safety in the front . Overseas, the H300 series is on sale, and in Japan it seems most likely that both will be sold together at the 21st anniversary.
