About Toyota new Yaris Cross minor change powertrain forecast

The European model “Yaris Cross” is already equipped with a new “dual hybrid” powertrain that uses fifth-generation Toyota hybrid technology in the new powertrain “Hybrid 130”. Offering a wide range of options for new B-segment customers looking to downsize their vehicles without sacrificing performance. The 1.5L engine remains unchanged, but the motor output has been increased, and the system output has been increased from the previous 116ps to 130ps. Torque has also increased from 141Nm to 185Nm. This results in improved acceleration performance, with 0-100km/h acceleration reduced by 0.5 seconds to 10.7 seconds and 80-120km/h acceleration reduced by 0.4 seconds to 8.9 seconds. CO2 emissions, on the other hand, increased slightly to between 103 and 122g/km.

The new “Hybrid 130” has been introduced to the higher-grade “Premiere Edition” and “GR SPORT” in European models, and the hybrid “Hybrid 115”, which is also used in Japan, has been adopted in other grades.

There may be a trend to adopt it in higher grades of Japanese models as well. Japanese cars such as the Prius currently use two hybrid systems.

Toyota new Yaris Cross minor change forecast summary

There is no doubt that Toyota’s “Yaris Cross” as of 2024 has more attractive equipment, safety equipment, and powertrain than other companies’ models.
