Land Rover 2nd generation new “Range Rover Velar EV” spy shots

  • Adopts a new generation exterior design.
  • It is likely to have an 800V architecture.
  • Positioned to compete with Porsche Macan EV

The prototype, captured in freezing Finnish Lapland, is hidden behind heavy camouflage. It has a sleek silhouette, but the low-slung design may be more focused on highway performance than off-road performance. In other words, it may not be the flagship Range Rover, which is expected to maintain a tall, boxy, off-road-oriented design. It is speculated to be a successor to the Range Rover Velar, but it is unclear whether the EV version will retain the same name. At the rear, part of the fairly slim LED taillights can be seen, and at the same time the tailgate has been enlarged and the rear window appears to have been redesigned to be more compact.

The next-generation EV is positioned to compete with the Porsche Macan EV , and will likely be an SUV that emphasizes on-road performance compared to Range Rover and other vehicles. Jaguar Land Rover has not yet announced official specifications for its upcoming EV, but it is likely to have an 800V architecture. With towing, wading, and off-road technology, it says it goes “above and beyond.” It’s just like any other luxury electric SUV.
