The new “Rankuru 250” is really big! But it’s cool
This time, I saw three actual cars, and all of them were of the highest grade “ZX”. Two were first edition “ZX” and one was a regular grade “ZX”. The biggest difference between the exterior of this normal grade and the normal grade is whether it is round or square.
First of all, let’s look at the exterior, but when I looked at the body size, I felt that it was large. The numerical body size is 4,925mm in length, 1,980mm in width, 1,925mm to 1,935mm in height, and 2,850mm in wheelbase. However, I felt it was bigger than the Prado. Compared to the Prado, the overall length has increased by 100 mm, the overall width has increased by 95 mm, the overall height has increased by 85 mm to +90 mm, and the wheelbase has increased by 60 mm. I felt that this was not only big, but also cool.
Furthermore, I personally felt that the round headlights brought out the best of the Land Cruiser 250. The design was created with the idea of returning to its roots, and the front grille design and TOYOTA logo reminded me of old Land Cruisers.
The back door glass hatch remained, making it possible to put in and take out luggage without opening the back door.

Toyota’s new model “Land Cruiser 250” Which is recommended: “round eye” or “square eye”?
As for the recommended exterior, I personally recommend “round eyes”. The reason is that many popular off-road SUV models adopt the “round-eye” design, and many crossover SUVs, from Japanese cars to overseas models, have unique round-eye headlights. there is.

There are fixed grades for which “round eyes” can be selected.
- Round eyes cannot be selected for standard model higher grades “ZX” and “GX”
- Special edition cars “First Edition ZX” and “First Edition VX” adopt round eyes
This time, those who want to choose a rounded exterior look have no choice but to select the “VX” grade and select the dealer option (187,000 yen), or select the special edition model “First Edition ZX” or “First Edition VX” .

After all, the recommended grade is the new “Lancle 250” special edition “First Edition” top grade “ZX”
After looking at the actual car again, we recommend the “First Edition ZX”, which is a top grade special edition car packed with the best features of the Rankle 250.
It features round LED headlights , a 12.3-inch TFT display full LCD digital meter , a 12.3-inch wide touch screen T-Connect SD navigation system , 18-inch wheels, rock rails, front skid plate, back door guard, and 10-speaker JBL. Equipped with a speaker system, heated and ventilated front seats, a moonroof, Toyota’s new Stabilizer Disconnection Mechanism (SDM), and more, it’s pretty good. The only drawback is the price of 7,850,000 yen.

The interior of the new Land Cruiser 250 can accommodate seven adults without any problems!
The interior of the Land Cruiser 250 doesn’t feel luxurious when I ride it, but overall it’s calm and I don’t have any bad impressions. What was impressive was that the steering wheel design had been completely redesigned from the Land Cruiser 250, with the “TOYOTA” logo placed in the center.
In the rear seats, I was impressed with the spaciousness of the second row seats and the feeling of riding in the third row seats.
My impression from actually sitting in the third row was that it wasn’t cramped, so I felt like I could ride for a certain distance without any problems.
Since the basic structure is the same as the Land Cruiser 300, I felt that the riding feeling was the same.
The cargo space specs are quite spacious when the third row seats are folded down. Luggage space when the second seat is in use has been expanded from 398L in the Prado 150, and 408L in the Land Cruiser 250.
There is almost no cargo space when the third row seats are in use.

The Land Cruiser 250 is a model located in the middle of the Land Cruiser series. The base price of the Land Cruiser 300 will be lower, but the prices for the higher grades will be similar. Of course, I think there is a high possibility that 300 will increase in price in the future.

Toyota’s new “Land Cruiser 250” Japanese model release date?
- Officially announced and released on April 18, 2024
- Production starts on April 25, 2024
Toyota was scheduled to release the Japanese model of the new Land Cruiser 250 (Land Cruiser 250) on March 8, 2024, but the release date has been postponed . ( Due to the Toyota Industries Corporation certification fraud announced on January 29, 2024. ) However, official information has been sent to each dealer, and the product will be officially announced and released on April 18, 2024 . This time, only 8,000 special edition First Edition cars will be sold. Purchase quotas will be allocated to each dealer, but the proportion and number of units will vary, and like the Land Cruiser 300, delivery times are expected to be extended.
How many production units will be allocated to Japan?
- 8,000 first editions
- Monthly sales standard: 2,250 units (including first edition)

About lottery sales
From April 10, 2024, lottery reservations for “Rankle 250” have started at some retailers . There are various situations, including those who know the results and those who do not yet know. Some of them even won the first edition lottery. There also seem to be many sales with conditions.
- Past purchase history available
- Remaining credits required
- Maintenance pack & coating
- No transfer for 1 year
Should I give up if I am not selected for the lottery sale or am unable to participate?
This time, I am wondering whether those who were not selected for the lottery sale or those who were not able to participate in the lottery sale in the first place should give up, but in my personal opinion, they should not give up. The number of units allotted differs depending on each dealer, so it may be a good idea to visit various dealers again near the release date. If you can find a dealer with a large allocation, you may have a chance to buy.
