About GR Supra
Toyota has fully remodeled the new GR Supra A90 and released it on May 17, 2019. Toyota and BMW have announced joint development of the new Supra and the new Z4. There are many common parts such as the platform and engine.
The new BMW Z4 will have an open car (roadster) body type, and the new Supra will have a coupe body type. Basically, BMW is in charge of the platform and engine for the new Supra, while Toyota is independently designing the exterior and interior design.

Although it was possible for Toyota to develop it alone, the cost of developing a sports car is extremely high. Moreover, the sales volume is not expected to be large. By co-developing it with BMW, we were able to reduce costs and keep the selling price down.
Compared to the Supra A80 type, the overall length is -140mm, the overall width is +55mm, the overall height is +20mm, and the wheelbase is -80mm. Although the overall length has been shortened, it retains the same long-nose, short-deck design as the Supra A80, but is still a modern sports car. The overall length has been shortened, the front and rear weight distribution has been increased to 50:50, and the overall width has been increased to improve stability and body rigidity, allowing for a sportier driving experience.
