Toyota will make minor changes to the Tacoma, America’s best-selling mid-size pickup, making it a 2024 model and launching it in 2023. A teaser image was released on April 4, 2023 (local time).

Toyota new Tacoma powertrain
It’s the addition of an all-new hybrid powertrain called “i-Force Max . ” It produces a maximum power of 437 hp (326 kW / 443 PS) and a maximum torque of 583 lb-ft (790 Nm).
Since the powertrain is focused on producing large amounts of torque, the company went the hybrid route. Excluding the TRX variant, engineers can declare mission accomplished as the massive amount of power is perfect for everything in the Silverado’s engine bay and does the same for the Ram 1500. It also beats out every mainstream engine in the F-150, making 13hp (10kW/13PS) less and 73lb-ft (99Nm) more than the Raptor. The motor is powered by a nickel metal hydride battery located under the rear seat. This allows the truck to run on electricity alone at low speeds, but the real advantage is that the engine and electric motor work together to produce their combined power. The Tundra can tow up to 12,000 pounds (5,443 kg), an increase of 17.6 percent. Maximum payload capacity has also increased to 1,940 pounds (880 kg), an increase of more than 11%. There are two towing/hauling modes. Standard mode improves throttle response and is ideal for towing light to moderate items such as small trailers or small boats. Tow/Haul+ mode, on the other hand, features a more aggressive throttle response designed for towing large box trailers, boats and campers.
