“Automobile Assessment” evaluates and publishes the safety performance of automobiles
The Japan National Automobile Accident Prevention Agency (NASVA), a third-party organization, has established evaluation standards for vehicle safety performance, and one of the highest safety performance evaluations given to vehicles that meet the standards is Five. Star award. It indicates high evaluation of a car’s collision safety and advanced safety equipment, and is an important index for consumers to use as reference when choosing a car.
From fiscal 2020, it will be called “Automobile Safety Performance 2020,” and will comprehensively evaluate these factors. The latest “Automobile Safety Performance 2022” will be announced in January 2023. Collision safety performance has a perfect score of 100 points, preventive safety performance has a perfect score of 91 points (82 points for 2020-2021), and accident automatic emergency notification system has a total score of 199 points (190 points for 2020-2021) of 8 points. However , in order to receive the highest rating, the “Five Star Award,” a vehicle must obtain the highest rating of A rank for collision safety performance and preventive safety performance, and be equipped with an automatic accident emergency notification system.
From FY2023, it will be called “Automobile Safety Performance 2023,” and from FY2023, a new evaluation will be introduced in response to accidents with pedestrians in the evaluation of “acceleration suppression device when pedal is pressed incorrectly.” There is a change in point allocation.

Toyota “Alphard Vellfire” car safety performance 2023
For Toyota Alphard Vellfire, this is the 8th release of the 2023 Automobile Safety Performance Report. The evaluation result was 181.78 points (out of 197 points). It received 88.84 points (out of 89 points) for preventive safety, 84.93 points (out of 100 points) for collision safety, and 8 points (out of 8 points) for accident automatic emergency notification system.
As you can see by watching the video, the advanced preventive safety performance is almost perfect, so you can rest assured. It’s a bit worrying that in the side impact test, the car was overturned by a side impact. The reason for the lower score this time appears to be the low level 3 of the pedestrian protection (head) test.
