About the 8th generation Hilux
It is 70mm longer and 20mm wider than the previous 7th generation model, and is also available in double cab, single cab and extra cab body styles. A total of 31 variations models are available. The chassis adopts a FIRM (Frame with Integrated Rigidity Mechanism) structure that makes extensive use of high-tensile steel plates assembled by spot welding.

Toyota has made some improvements to the new Hilux and released it on June 24, 2019. The pre-crash safety detection function has been improved to now detect pedestrians at night and cyclists during the day , and the Lane Departure Alert is equipped with a yaw assist function that not only provides a warning but also prevents departure . Additionally, it features radar cruise control (with brake control), road sign assist that displays road signs on the display to help prevent you from missing them , and a preceding vehicle departure notification function that notifies you when the vehicle in front of you has started . A rear differential lock is standard on all models to improve drivability on rough roads .

About the 8th generation new Hilux minor change
Toyota has made minor changes to the new Hilux and released it on August 19, 2020. The exterior will be similar to the 50th anniversary special edition car “Z “Black Rally Edition”. “Z “Black Rally Edition”” will be discontinued due to minor changes. This time, just like overseas models, the exterior design of the regular model has been changed. The large trapezoidal grille expresses the thickness of the face, and the front configuration that supports the grille expresses strength. A bumper guard garnish made exclusively for Japan enhances its more active image. The shafts of the headlamps run through the thinner grille, giving the vehicle a wider feel, and the use of Bi-Beam LEDs creates an advanced look.
By improving the diesel engine and adding an idling stop function, a WLTC mode fuel efficiency of 11.7km/L was achieved. (In JC08 mode, it goes from 11.8km/L to 13.6km/L, achieving a fuel efficiency improvement of more than 15% compared to the conventional model.) New tough and elegant oxide bronze metallic that looks good even on off-road, dark with a high texture and sophisticated image. Available in 5 colors including 2 blue mica colors.
In terms of safety, all models come standard with pre-crash safety, lane departure alert (with yaw assist function), and intelligent clearance sonar ICS (parking support brake). “Safety Support Car S (Wide)” (Support Car S (Wide)) is a target vehicle. Improved suspension and addition of VFC function have improved handling stability and ride comfort.
For the interior, the X grade is also equipped with an Optitron meter + 4.2-inch TFT color multi-information display for improved visibility. The meter itself also expresses a tough image by changing the decoration such as plating the ring.

New Hilux Z “GR SPORT”
Toyota will make some improvements to the Hilux and release it on October 8, 2021. A new grade “ Z “GR SPORT” has been added. The newly added “Z “GR SPORT” has an impressive wide body with an overall width of 1,900 mm and is equipped with a special front bumper, grille, and 18-inch aluminum wheels. The interior features exclusive synthetic leather and suede-like sports seats (front) embroidered with his GR logo.
