What is the Toyota new Alphard Vellfire grade?
There are two grades to choose from for the new Alphard: the top grade “Executive Lounge” and the intermediate grade “Z.” (The previous model had 8 types: “X”, “S”, “SC”, “SR”, “G”, “GF”, “SC”, and “Executive Lounge”) . There are two types to choose from.

What engine do you recommend?
I personally recommend the “2.5 L inline 4-cylinder direct injection engine (Dynamic Force Engine) + motor THS II (hybrid)” model.
2.5 L inline 4-cylinder hybrid model Why we recommend it
It has better fuel efficiency and motor assist than the gasoline model, so you can enjoy more relaxed driving.
The engine and hybrid system are well-established and have already been used in many car models such as the RAV4, Harrier, Crown (crossover), and Camry .
Engine output and motor output have been increased to Alphard specifications.
When considered as a hybrid model, the drive system: 2WD can be selected.
The author is currently driving the 4th generation Harrier model with 2.5 L inline 4-cylinder direct injection engine (Dynamic Force Engine) + motor THS II (hybrid) , and the fuel efficiency is 17.1 km/L while driving without worrying about anything. Even considering the weight and size of the vehicle, it has impressive fuel efficiency. Furthermore, thanks to the motor assist, the car runs comfortably, and even if you imagine it in an Alphard, which has the weight and class of the car, you can be sure that you will not be dissatisfied with the fuel efficiency and driving performance.

What engine is used in Toyota’s new Alphard Vellfire?
First of all, there are two engines that will be adopted in the full model change of “Alphard ” and “Vellfire”. It was carried over and continued to be adopted. This model is only available on the Alphard, achieving both powerful and smooth acceleration and fuel efficiency. Furthermore, the “ 2.5 L inline 4-cylinder direct injection engine (Dynamic Force Engine) + hybrid ” has been adopted as a hybrid vehicle in the “Alphard” and “Vellfire.” The newly developed “2.4L direct injection turbo engine D-4ST” will be used only in the “Vellfire.” In terms of differentiation, the Vellfire is a sportier model.

Toyota New Alphard Vellfire Hybrid model considering resale value
The lowest grade of hybrid cars, Z, is not cheap at 6,200,000 yen. Gasoline grade “Z” starts from 5,400,000 yen, which is a difference of 800,000 yen. The gasoline grade continues to use the 2.5L inline 4-cylinder + Super CVT-i, which is probably the reason for the price difference. However, if you look at the specs, you’ll find that it has an attractive fuel efficiency (17.5-17.7km/L) comparable to that of an old compact car, and a maximum system output of 184w (250ps) with perfect driving performance. Considering resale value, a hybrid vehicle is definitely the choice.

What are the differences between the new engine lineup and the previous model?
The biggest difference is that the engines for hybrid and turbo cars have been replaced with new engines. By changing the generation, we have adopted high-speed combustion technology and a variable control system, which has significantly improved fuel efficiency, and if you look at the models that have adopted it so far, you will be surprised at the fuel efficiency when driving at actual fuel consumption. There’s no doubt about it. Furthermore, the long-awaited 2WD model will be added to the hybrid vehicle lineup , which is highly requested by users . This will result in a lineup of grades that contribute to both price and fuel efficiency. Furthermore, some users may feel disappointed that the V6 engine model will be discontinued , but beyond that, the newly developed “2.4L direct injection turbo engine” that combines both fuel efficiency and driving performance has been adopted. We also respond to people’s requests.

Toyota New Alphard Vellfire What grade is recommended considering resale value?
Alphard recommended grade
You should select the grade “Z” which is equivalent to the most popular hybrid model of the previous model, grades “SR “C Package” and “S “C Package”.
Vellfire recommended grade
Grade “Z Premium” should be selected. This grade is not available in the Alphard, and has more safety features as standard compared to the Z, including 19-inch aluminum wheels exclusive to the Vellfire, premium Nappa leather executive power seats, and an exclusive interior color of Sunset Brown. .
Toyota New Alphard Vellfire What options do you want to add considering resale value?
Toyota Teammate Advanced Park + Parking Brake Support
“Executive Lounge” and “Z Premier” are standard equipment. All new Alphard models are equipped with the next-generation Toyota Safety Sense as standard . This alone is great as it has many functions, but even though it has a lot of safety equipment (Z is a manufacturer option), it is definitely worth adding this.
Advanced Park
After stopping next to the space you want to park, press the advanced park switch to confirm the parking location. Then, when you press the start switch, the vehicle completes parking by assisting with steering, accelerator, and brake operations while monitoring the surrounding area (shifting is manual).
Advanced Park (with remote function) Hybrid vehicle
Limited to hybrid vehicles, you can remotely park and exit the vehicle by operating a dedicated smartphone app from outside the vehicle. Those who want to do this will definitely choose a hybrid car.
Parking support brake (stationary object) [Intelligent clearance sonar]
When parking or driving at low speeds, when there is a risk of colliding with a stationary object such as a wall, when starting suddenly due to pressing the accelerator pedal incorrectly or too much, or when starting due to pressing the shift lever incorrectly, the sensor automatically adjusts the direction of travel. When a stationary object is detected, the system is activated, mitigating the collision and helping to reduce the damage caused by the collision.
digital inner mirror
“Executive Lounge” is standard equipment. “Z Premier”, “Z” and “G” are manufacturer options. If you carry a lot of people in the back seats or carry a lot of luggage in the luggage compartment, we recommend installing a digital interior mirror.

Universal steps (both sides)
“Executive Lounge”, “Z Premier”, “Z” and “G” are manufacturer options for all grades. We recommend installing this for people who carry elderly people or small children in the back seat. The disadvantage is that you won’t be able to install a spare tire. From an export perspective, it may be okay to have a spare tire, but if you’re thinking about domestic use, I think it would be better to have a universal step.

universal step
Twin dimming panoramic roof
The seats feature a “super long overhead console” and “twin dimming panoramic roof . ” It is recommended to install it as it is an option on “Alphard” and “Z” grades.

When should you consider purchasing?
This time, due to the extremely popular car model, its first full model change in eight and a half years, and the longer delivery times due to a shortage of semiconductors, it is expected that delivery times will be considerably longer, so you will need to be prepared to order.

Vellfire
Although it maintains the same concept as the previous model, the exterior design and front and rear bumper designs have been changed. Continuing from the previous generation , it uses ” flowing turn signals (sequential turn lamps) “. The body size (total length 4,995mm, total width 1,850mm, total height 1,935mm, wheelbase 3,000mm) is maintained within the size limit for general mechanical parking lots (total length 5,000mm x total width 1,850mm or less). It uses a newly developed platform called TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) , which was adopted from the new Prius released in December 2015 . The engine model is equipped with a “ 2.5L inline 4-cylinder direct injection engine (Dynamic Force Engine) ” that achieves the same maximum thermal efficiency of over 40% as the new Camry . This engine is also used in the hybrid model, which uses a smaller, lighter hybrid system called “High Performance Multi-Stage THS II” to improve fuel efficiency. The new Alphard/Vellfire Hybrid uses the same 2AR-FXE 2.5L straight-4 DOHC+ motor as the Camry Hybrid, and has a WLTC mode fuel economy of 16.5-17.7km/L. The previous model only had a 4WD (E-Four) hybrid model, but this time, for the first time, a 2WD (FF) model will be available. Additionally, the eight-seater model was discontinued.
The interior of the new Alphard has significantly evolved.
The front seats feature the latest steering wheel and shift knob of the latest design, which is shared with the new Prius and Crown. The electric parking brake and hold button are very easy to press, and the charging position is very convenient, just by placing it next to the drink holder. A 12.3 – inch large full LCD digital meter , 14-inch display audio, T-Connect SD navigation system + JBL premium sound system (15 speakers) , and a 13.2-inch display (optional) are used for the rear seat entertainment system. It uses Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Equipped with DCM in-vehicle communication device as standard. (Executive Lounge is standard equipment)
