About Toyota’s new “Vellfire” PHEV model
The new 40 series Vellfire uses the newly developed TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) GA-K platform, similar to the RAV4, Harrier, and NXIt also shares the same features as other models in that it usesa 2.5L inline 4-cylinder direct injection engine (Dynamic Force Engine) + hybrid system . Even considering this common feature, it is likely that a plug-in hybrid system similar to the PHEV model will be adopted.
Equipped with the newly developed plug-in hybrid system “THSⅡ Plug-in”, “In-line 4-cylinder 2.5L direct injection engine D-4S + motor (THSⅡ)”, large capacity lithium-ion battery (lithium-ion power: 8.8kWh) and powerful This is a model with an additional motor. System output is 302 HP (225 kW / 306 PS), which is 83 HP (62 kW / 84 PS) more than the hybrid model. The specifications from here are predictable, but the cruising range in EV mode is approximately 90km/L in WLTC mode . Hybrid fuel efficiency WLTC is approximately 17.5km/L . Acceleration performance is 0-100km/h in 7.0 seconds . The cruising range is expected to be 1,100km.
The Harrier PHEV can use the electricity stored in its large-capacity battery for purposes other than driving. In addition to being used inside the car using the outlet installed inside the car, if you insert the included vehicle power connector into the normal charging inlet, it becomes an outlet for external 100V power supply. Compatible with a total of 1500W.

What I think about Toyota’s new “Vellfire”
For Toyota, the “Harrier” is a model with high sales power, similar to the “Alphard” and “Vellfire” in the Japanese market. This time, Toyota has successfully evolved, and by changing the interior and adding a powertrain, it becomes a model that feels more evolved than it looks when you drive it. The complete safety equipment and latest equipment make it a reliable vehicle.
